Is Meat Bad For The Environment?
Did you know that 15% of greenhouse gas emissions come from the meat and dairy industry? Beef processing is especially detrimental to the environment, requiring 160 times the amount of land and emitting 11 times the amount of greenhouse gases as staple plant-based foods like potatoes, wheat, and rice. In addition, it takes a lot of land to grow animal feed, and thus large amounts of arable land need to be deforested and desertified. An alternative to eating meat is eating other proteins such as beans, nuts, and even broccoli.
